Durability, economy and design: Indelval climbs at the top of the podium.

The “Juan Manuel Fangio Foundation Museum” has chosen Indelval rubber floorings for the Museum “El Chuequito de Balcarce” due to their superior performance “lap after lap”.

Juan Manuel Fangio, known as “El Chueco” (bandy legs), is justly considered the greatest Argentine race car driver of all time and one of, if not the most important in world history. This simple and modest man took part in 200 competitions, had 80 victories and finished second 28 times, used 49 different cars throughout his career, and between the years 1951 and 1957 won five Formula One Championships – racing with Alfa Romeo, Mercedes Benz, Lancia Ferrari and Maserati – becoming a racing world legend.

When the Museum “El Chuequito” opened its doors last November, visitors were greeted with a colourful interior. The floor’s original design, which imitates in different areas a race-track, streets and highways, offers a didactic and fun tour through the different parts of this unique museum aimed towards children.

In fact it is considered to be the children’s wing of the renowned “Juan Manuel Fangio Racing Museum”, where thanks to ingenious resources such as comic strip language – in big panels with illustrations taken from the book “Fangio, l´homme qui fut roi” created by the prestigious Belgium cartoonist Denis Bernard, member of the famous Studio Graton - and large doses of interactivity, kids start learning about some of the Argentine driver’s accomplishments and elemental traffic rules and signs.

The prestigious Conticello Architecture Studio – in charge of the project and its execution – chose Indelval rubber floorings for the modern museum’s facilities. Studio executives explained that the selection was based on the ability to easily reproduce the complex designs with our floors, due to their excellent dimensional stability and the fact that joint sealing is not necessary. Other main reasons behind the choice included our wide range of colours, which allowed for the creation of pleasant and vibrant environments, and the floor’s unbeatable properties of resistance, high walking comfort and sound absorbency.

Designers selected Geo Plus and Geo TX products in their roll and tile versions, which make maintenance much easier, a significant factor in facilities with heavy traffic. Last, but not least, safety considerations influenced the choice: as our products are free of PVC and other toxic agents. In case of fires, Indelval rubber floorings will not release toxic gases, thus minimizing the black smoke index, a feature which when combined with their excellent non-slipping properties provides a valuable security advantage, essential in environments devoted to children.
